Goodreads shutters all APIs, breaking my open source app
Last night I got a very bad, no good email from Goodreads.
It read:
Your Goodreads developer API key has been deactivated
Goodreads has deactivated the Goodreads developer API key associated with your Goodreads account as it has not been used in more than 30 days. As of December 8th 2020, Goodreads will no longer issue new developer keys for our public developer API and plans to retire these tools.

Capture the Flag at Ruby in Hollywood
The idea Last night, Ruby in Hollywood held its first ever Capture the Flag event. Jake Wilkins had the idea for us to attack OWASP Juice Shop, which is a node.js app full of security vulnerabilities. I did some research about CTFs and thought it sounded like a great idea. I sent around this video from UCSB’s white hat team to all Ruby in Hollywood members so they could prepare.
